DIXIE

Called to Rainbow Bridge on 23rd February 2007

Sweet Dixie

You came to me after having such a hard life, but after all that has happened to you in your 2 short years on this earth, you still believed in mankind.
Dixie, you still believed that there were some kind and loving people who would love and care for you. You were RIGHT!!!!!
I loved you from the minute I saw you, and only wished that I had met you sooner.
When I first met you, you had a smile on your face and your tail was wagging like mad, despite all the travelling you had just done. It was almost as if you knew that you had arrived to begin a new life. We got you home and quickly you settled in. It was like you had always been here.
In the first 4 days you made a friend of Bridie my Goldie . Playing and running together, it was like you were sisters.
Then you became ill, I just wished that you could have told me. We took you to the vets but it seemed that you were too weak to fight what infection you had. I was thinking of you every minute after I left you, I wish I could have stayed.
I gave you a cuddle after I carried you into the room, and I am sure you knew that my heart was with you.
That was the last time I saw you. Two hours later you passed knowing that you were loved like never before.
You were my first foster Sweet Dixie and we will always remember you as the kind, sweet, good natured little Dixielab that you were.
Rest in peace my little one and may you meet up with all the other little doggies there at Rainbow Bridge
Much love from Jackie and family

Happier times,Click Here

They say memories are golden
Well maybe that is true
I never wanted memories
I only wanted you.
A million times I needed you,
A million times I cried.
If love alone could have saved you
You never would have died.
In life I loved you dearly.
In death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place
No one could ever fill.
If tears could build a stairway
And heartache make a lane,
I'd walk the path to heaven
And bring you back again.
Our family chain is broken,
And nothing seems the same.
But as God calls one by one,
The chain will link again.
