OSCAR (Fobbingacre Golden Dancer)
03/07/1992 - 29/05/2007
It was with deep sadness that I had to say goodbye to my Oscar, just short of his 15th birthday. He was a calm, very loving presence in my life which I greatly miss. His spirit remained strong and his manic appetite never wavered but his body sadly became very weak.
He went very peacefully and without stress at home, munching his favourite Crackerjack biscuits right up to the end.
I'll never forget him and am so grateful that we had nearly 15 very happy and mostly healthy years together, the memories of which I shall always treasure. How can people not like or treasure dogs? It is a complete mystery to me when my life has been so enriched by mine.
The pictures show Oscar when he was in his prime as a youngster and then around October 2006 with my younger dog Angus.
God looked around his garden
And found an empty place,
He then looked down upon the earth
And saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering
He knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb.
So he closed your weary eyelids
And whispered, 'Peace be Thine'.
It broke our hearts to lose you
But you didn't go alone,
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home
Back to the Rainbow
