I am racing Ironman Italy to raise funds for Irish Retriever Rescue because they
give rescue dogs a second chance at life

In 2006, Alison (my wife) and I were lucky enough to adopt Summer, our first Irish
Retriever Rescu., Since then we have adopted 2 more beautiful rescue goldies from the
same charity - Bonnie + Daisy.
Ironman is widely known as the toughest one day endurance event; starting at dawn with
a 2.4 mile open water swim, followed by a 112 mile bike ride and then a 26.2 mile run
(that's the same as a marathon), all to be finished before midnight the same day.
Many months of training in all three disciplines are needed to just finish the race.
I am funding the whole trip and race fees myself so ALL donations will go to the very
worthy charity work of Irish Retriever Rescue. 100's of dogs are rescued and rehomed
every year by IRR. We ourselves have fostered over 40 dogs in the last 3 years, helping
often neglected and abused dogs on their journey to a forever home of life, love and
happiness in their adopted families. The charity is full of wonderful unpaid volunteers and
so all donations will be going directly to help the dogs by covering costs such as: kennels,
neutering, inoculations, microchips, transport and any medical treatment required.
