IRR EVENT at RALLY in the VALLEY
Severn Park , Bridgnorth, 17th & 18th July 2010
The weekend was an amazing success but it was the dogs who stole the show with their beautiful bandanas (donated by Diane Killington). They were all amazing ambassadors for the IRR and, by all accounts, were better behaved than the humans!!
Sandie , Lorraine and all at IRR send huge thanks to everyone who made it such a wonderful success and especially to Jane and Malcolm who worked so hard during and before the event to make it all happen.
From all the dogs who will benefit we want to say a very heartfelt thank you for the magnificent sum of £700 that was raised.
We have decided to put £200 into the Bonnie Fund set up to help towards the future vet bills of this beautiful forever foster girl . It was great that Simon and Julie were able to bring Bonnie to play her valuable part as one of the doggy representatives at the show.
The other £500 will go into the general IRR fund to help towards our never ending vet bills.
Last week, Holly, one of our forever fosters, who has very serious health problems, was hospitalised again. Fortunately, she managed to rally again and is now back home but the vet bill was extensive. We were then all greatly saddened when, following 4 days at the vets and battling to save her, we lost Chloe, another of our forever fosters. She was not far short of her 14th birthday.
The total of the vet bills for these 2 special girls for this hellish few days was £1114.47p.
The money raised will go a long way towards helping with these vet bills and for that IRR are incredibly grateful to each and every one for the part you played in this huge success.
First of all Malcolm and I have got to say a massive "thank you" to Brian Davies (Rally in the Valley Event Organiser) for letting us have a stand free of charge and to the “Bridgnorth Clan”...Simon, Julie, Rose, Val, Andy, Chris & Emily for giving up their valuable time over the weekend to give us a hand.
It was commented by the organisers that ours was the most popular stand there............... nothing to do with the dogs though!!!!
On Saturday the weather was kind and it was very busy. The Tombola stall went down a treat and every ticket was sold by 4pm. Even the DVD "Tractors from Yesteryear" went, much to Rose’s amazement. We had a Kiddies Lucky Dip which Julie & Simon did. Bonnie (the child not the dog) found it a comfy place to sit in!! Simon & Julie chatted to lots of people who were showing plenty of interest in the IRR so, hopefully, we will get some more folks involved one way or another.
Sunday's weather was not quite so kind and things were a bit more sedate with Val & Andy there to help. Andy ran Name the Bear and that raised a fair bit of money.
