(Was Norma)

AILSA IS A VERY HAPPY LITTLE GIRL (June 2019)

Little Norma now has a new name (Ailsa). She has been learning to walk on a loose lead in puppy class!

It’s easy to see she is delighted at her progress and she is, now, a very happy little girl.

HISTORY

In March 2019, an urgent appeal was launched by IRR saying:- “As many of you will be aware, there is an increasing problem with illegally trafficked pups and rescue dogs from Europe. UK authorities are increasingly acting to stop this immoral trade and keep UK domestic and livestock safe from imported diseases. Unfortunately, it isn’t without its victims. One of these is dear little Norma”

Norma had been illegally smuggled into the country, under age and without adequate protection. She was, subsequently, seized and placed in quarantine.

Her importer, being unaware of the law and unable to meet the high quarantine costs, had resulted in Norma’s life being placed in jeopardy with nobody to take responsibility and nobody to pay the bills. Such circumstances lead to one inevitable outcome…. one very young life cut short.

IRR were alerted to her plight by one of our fabulous supporters who asked if we could help her to save little Norma’s life and who could say, “no” to that gorgeous little face? After all, she didn’t ask to be born and she didn’t deserve her life to be put in danger by scammers and traffickers.

We, desperately, needed the help of our wonderful supporters to find the £1,500 to release her once she had served her time in quarantine. Our prime concern was securing her release.

Fortunately, we knew our compassionate, generous people would help and, of course, they did. All of the money was raised to rescue Norma from the pound and she was, then, welcomed into the IRR family where she would never be in danger again.
