Alfie Baber
Age 1 year old
Sex: Male Neutered
History
Much loved Alfie was surrendered to IRR following a tragic change in family circumstances.
Personality
Alfie is a young, affectionate, fun loving retriever who loves everyone he meets. A happy boy whose tail never stops wagging.
Alfie’s dream home
Alfie would love a full on active family who already have another dog. Alfie is very strong on the lead and will need further training to bring out his full potential. Alfie is good with children but probably best suited to older children due to his bounciness. Alfie needs a cat free home.
Alfie is being fostered in Cheshire.
December 2014
Alfie has gone to his Forever Home
Tony tells “Alfie is doing well and is getting good on the lead. A lot of work is needed on recall but he will get there. He has been told off a few times by Roxy, my daughter’s dog, but he still comes back for more
Everyone loves him. We are so lucky to have him.”
FURTHER UPDATE IN ALFIE’S OWN WORDS (Jan 6th 2015)
Hi peoples
I arrived at my forever home with my new mum & dad after a long journey on the 15th November.
I jumped straight into the pond (I didn’t know I wasn’t allowed to do that). Then I found out I wasn’t allowed on the furniture either!!!!
Now, though, I have a really big family to love me & I have 2 other family dogs that come to see me & I go to see them. Their names are Roxy & Amber.
I have been naughty a few times (chewing slippers & shoes, stealing crisps, cake etc.) but I’m learning every day. I also have my own toy box with lots of toys to play with & chew.
I go for lots of walks & meet lots of other dogs up the park but Champ (a black Cocker Spaniel) is my best friend up there. I get very muddy in the park & have been to the groomers twice to make me look clean & handsome as if I need help to look handsome!!!!
I had a great Christmas & Roxy was here with me but one day she wasn’t very well so I looked after her.
Thank you for finding me my forever home
love
ALFIE
