Bailey
BAILEY, once called BRETT, is a lovely boy who is about 7yrs or 8yrs old. He was filthy when he arrived so he must have been thrown out to fend for himself, possibly after his loving owner died. He needed a couple of baths to get him clean but now he looks wonderful thanks to the hard work of his fosterer, Jan. Here is dirty Brett having a bath………OMG look at the water:(
And here he is after his bath looking squeaky clean and very, very handsome.
It is so sad………he came from Ireland without a name and no collar and no lead. It makes him seem so insignificant…………….. heartbreaking isnt it?
UPDATE 15.03.07
Brett (now BAILEY) has been in his forever home two weeks now. They are following his strict training regime and he is continuing to take his remedies to help his stiff joints. He is already very much loved by his new owner.
Further update on Bailey from Jill & Rob
Bailey has settled in really well. He loves all of his new toys, and all the fuss and attention he is getting.
He is obsessed with water. Whenever we pass a stream or brook on our walks, you can guarantee that Bailey will jump into it.
Bailey is a keen gardener. Nan plants the flowers and then Bailey will either roll on them or go and bite their heads off. He really is comical. It is good to see Nan laughing again. He has been such a tonic to her. They really do adore each other.
Our local vet has assessed Bailey. She mentioned that he has cartilage problems in his elbow and shoulder. He is on a course of weekly injections for 4 weeks, after that he will have a monthly injection. These injections do seem to give him a new lease of life so now he bounds about like a puppy.
