Bella Norris
Sad News, 12 April 2023
Bella’s dad said, “We wish to inform you of the sad passing of an absolutely gorgeous girl, Bella, on 12 April 2023.
Thanks to IRR you enabled us to enjoy time with Bella who we have now lost at a young age (only 9) which will be very difficult for us. You gave us the chance to be part of her life and for that, we will always be eternally grateful.
Thank you.”
LYNNE FONDLY REMEMBERS THE FAMILY
She said, “It was very sad to see beautiful Bella had gone to the Bridge as well as Duke and Bob.
After being successfully fostered in Burnley, Bella went to live in Buckinghamshire where she met her new best friend Ellie. Mike and Carol shared many beautiful times with me of Bella and Ellie over the years.
Bella, clearly, had a wonderful life but was taken far too soon. Life can be so cruel. She, too, was far too young to be taken at only 9yrs old. It is all so dreadful. Please pass on my condolences to the family.
It is really sad, all so young and all together now xxx.”
History
OUR BELLE OF THE BALL
Wonderful Belle, who came from another rescue in 2014, is a very pale, coloured spayed, female Golden Retriever x Labrador . She was age 18 months.
FOSTER ASSESSMENT
Belle is like most young dogs, eager and buzzy. She wants to know everything and is fairly inquisitive.
She gets on very well with other dogs and has become firm friends with Dizzy and Purdy.
Her fosterers had young grandchildren and young teenagers and she seemed to get on with everyone.
FOSTER UPDATE 23.12.2014
Belle was being fostered in Burnley.
Character and Temperament: Belle is not strong or dominant, nervous, timid, fearful or anxious but rather is playful, happy and a bit boisterous but is calm and laid back when exercised.
Social Learning
Belle is housetrained and travels well.
She is not toy or food possessive and settles while we are eating in the same room. She is friendly with people and animals.
She has never been left alone as she always has the company of other dogs.
She is well behaved and comes when whistled or called.
BELLE’S DREAM HOME
We felt Belle was best suited to a family who would give her plenty of time and patience and won’t try to rush her development while, at the same time, giving her lots of love and affection.
She likes human company and contact so would do best in a home where the people are around 90% of the time to be with her. If I am in the same room, she will follow me everywhere wanting to be involved but, if I am busy, she settles straightaway. If she was with her adopter all the time then she could be a single dog although she would also need very regular contact with doggy friends.
Belle loves going for a walk and is fit and slim and can go for hours so she needs a very active home. She also needs to go to a dog savvy home rather than an inexperienced person, preferably with another dog or dogs, where she will be able to reach her full potential. She loves having a ball or squeaky thrown for her and plays well with other dogs (she has been with 4 others all week, 3 bitches and 1 dog, and has been no problems whatsoever).
An adopter would be very very lucky to have this lovely faithful little girl as part of their family and Belle deserves to have the very best home that can be found for her.

FOREVER HOME UPDATE ON BELLA (January 2015)
Mike tells us Bella is really enjoying life. In his own words “Bella is settling in lovely and is a wonderful dog.
She loves to stay nearby to me and last night settled so well that she was dreaming. Today she has been fast asleep and so is beginning to be more comfortable with her surroundings which is great news. She has been on good long walks with us each day, as is normal for Ellie, and has enjoyed the new sights and sounds of the walks we go on.
Ellie and Bella are enjoying themselves and playing lovely so we hope that this will make a good long term relationship for both of them and us.
