Bella Barlow
ON ARRIVAL FROM IRELAND
SPIRIT (as Bella was called then) was a beautiful and lovely natured, 3yr old neutered female who was surrendered because of a change in family circumstances. Unlike many of our dogs, she had been very much loved and her previous owners only wanted what was best for her. She was fostered first by Pauline where she fell in love with Del Boy and acted as a mum to little Stevie. Here she is with Del Boy:-
SPIRIT completed her period in foster with Marcelle in Devon, where she, again, proved to be a great hit with everyone.
UPDATE 11.03.07
SPIRIT has now gone off happily to live with Jane in Cornwall where she will have 2 adorable male canine companions (another Golden Retriever and a GSD).
UPDATE ON SPIRIT now BELLA 21.03.07
BELLA here, calling from Cornwall. I used to be known as Spirit, but have a brand new name and a brand new home, as well as two brand new dogs to call my friends. Well, what a week it has been. I started with my lovely foster family in Plymouth and then Jane and Lynn came along to offer me my forever home. I arrived here a week ago and spent an hour on the beach before coming home. As you will see from the photographs, I am settling in well and Henry and Brutus are getting used to me. Henry even played with me the other day. I think we make a stunning trio. I went to obedience training for the first time on Thursday evening and met lots of dogs and their owners, together with Auntie Anne, who takes the class. Everyone was very nice to me and even the couple of dogs who did not like me so much only had a tiny grizzle so I just walked away and let them get on with it. Everyone thinks I am very pretty, which of course I am. Tregarth Dog Training Club collects funds on a regular basis which are then donated to animal charities throughout the year. Auntie Anne was so impressed with me and the work of IRR that she is going to arrange a donation in the near future. I have also been to the Vet. She was also very nice and gave me lots of liver treats, so I shall definitely go again quite happily should the need arise. Lynne Jones kindly sent the flower essences for both myself and Henry and they seem to be working a treat. I am very happy here, although I know it is early days and we have a lot to learn about each other, but I do feel that I shall make this my permanent home.
Love and licks,
Bella
