Gone to Rainbow Bridge

Bramley’s final journey, 14 May 2022

Bramley’s mum said, “So today I am saying goodbye to Bramley, my soulmate and world. Thank you to IRR for entrusting Bramley to me many years ago. I have a whirlwind of emotions running around in my head this morning and feel so numb. He will be taking a piece of my heart with him to the Bridge. His tired old legs were finally packing up and I had to do what was best for him.

He was so relaxed on our arrival at Cherry Tree, no rush or a vets room and his journey to Rainbow Bridge was peaceful and dignified.”

History

ALWAYS HAPPY DESPITE HIS ACHES and PAINS

Bramley is an amazing boy who doesn’t let his health problems get in the way one bit. He is adored by the grandchildren and he is happy to share his home with another dog when one needs a bed for a night or two

HISTORY

Bramley is a very handsome Golden Retriever. He was approximately 8 yrs old in 2016 when he came to IRR due to a change in his owner’s circumstances. Unfortunately Bramley suffers from arthritis in his front legs so can only go on short walks for up to around 20 minutes at a time, this is due to a birth defect in his foot which has put pressure on his joints. Bramley is house-trained and neutered.

FOSTER ASSESSMENT

PERSONALITY: He is an absolute beauty, a gentle giant. He is very sweet and so incredibly affectionate. Bramley is ok with other dogs as long as they keep their distance and are not in his face.

SOCIAL LEARNING

Bramley is happy to be groomed. He has settled well in his present foster home and is relaxed and confident. Bramley is not bothered by storms. He greets his fosterer with a display of happiness, responds well to basic commands and is eager to please. His fosterer has two cats; Bramley is happy to see them and doesn’t chase. He is good in the car.

BRAMLEY’S DREAM HOME

Bramley formed a strong and enduring bond with his previous owner and will, therefore, need the same opportunity to be included in family life. Bramley is fine being left on his own for up to 4 hours. Human company is going to be important to help Bramley enjoy life again. In the fosterer’s opinion Bramley would suit a family with children over 6 years of age and where he is the only dog.

THE BEST NEWS (June 2016)
