Remy Crook
Sad News 26 June 2023
We are so sad to announce that our lovely Remy ( once named Brock) went to Rainbow Bridge last Monday (26 July 2023) at the grand old age of 15 and 2 weeks.
We are bereft without him but have so many memories of the last 10 years we were lucky to spend with him since we adopted him from IRR in 2013.
He was 5 when we adopted him, having been handed in to the pound in northern island , and was quite a handful for the next couple of years but soon settled down to become an amazing dog , loved by all who knew him. ‘Strong on lead’ was certainly an understatement and Remy had many adventures, always keen to be the one who tried to eat the jellyfish, the sand, the 80th birthday cake etc – he kept us on our toes! He has travelled with us many times to Cornwall, North Wales and many other places; he has seen two house moves, outlived three cats and had many doggy cousins.
Thank you IRR for our wonderful Remy. We could write a book of funny stories about our loveable Irish rogue.

History
Remy (was Brock) was surrendered because his owner wasn’t able to walk him.
Personality:
Brock is a big, strong boy, and he thinks that he is still a puppy! He is generally ok on the lead other than the odd stubborn moment when he sits down until he can do what he wants to do!!! Brock does like to steal things; socks, knitting wool, paper, cardboard, anything from a bin … this is fairly typical for goldens. When out for a walk he is fine with other dogs, but he doesn’t appear to have had much exercise in the past so he’ll need to gradually build up his muscles to avoid long term damage. He will chase cats given a chance, but he is sharing his foster home with cats, and if they don’t run he ignores them. He has come into contact with small children and seems quite comfortable for them to stroke him.
Brock’s Ideal Home:
Brock would like an active home where he gets plenty of gentle exercise as he builds his muscles up to proper goldie power. He is very curious and likes to be in the middle of things at all times. We recommend that he not be rehomed with young children but teenagers would be great for him.
Behaviour with other animals: Unknown
Fostered in: Hertfordshire
