Chloe Rolls
SADLY, CHLOE’S HAPPINESS WAS SHORT LIVED (29/09/2008)
Chloe had been off her food for a couple of days and had been lethargic then collapsed early in the morning. The vet came out to see her but the news wasn’t good. She had a large mass so was gently given sleep.
Debbie says “Her picture brings back such lovely memories of Chloe – she had some nice days out in the car, and some good walks – it has brought tears to my eyes.”
“When I met Chloe she reminded me very much of Lady Isabelle with her determination and charm. She tried so hard to overcome her arthiritis and was always up for a little outing. I particularly recall when we tried to leave her in Jenny’s flat to go to the local car boot sale, she barked more loudly than any dog I have ever heard, so we had to go back to collect her. I am so glad we did as that was the last time I saw her and she was so happy. We walked her over the nearby field first and then round the carboot sale where she was the centre of attention.”
“I know Jenny gave her a lot of love and care and I am pleased that she went from this world feeling that someone really adored her. It is just such a shame we couldn’t have had her for longer.”
Sleep well, sweet Chloe.

HISTORY
CHLOE is 13yrs old and her owner died so she is looking for a forever home to enjoy her twilight years. She is in foster together with her toy boy, Old Sam, with Andy & Val in the Midlands.
Andy says, “it is very early days but Chloe seems to be in quite good condition for a 13yr old, as you’d expect a slow old thing, and sleeps most of the day, but doesn’t seem to have any ailments.
She’s a good natured soul, who likes a fuss and a cuddle.
Poor Sam’s a bit put out as I think he was enjoying having all the attention to himself, and so is having a bit of a sulk.”
WELL SETTLED IN WILTSHIRE
After a very short stay with Pauline and the gang, when she found a new boyfriend to cuddle up to, Chloe moved to her new home in Salisbury where she is being totally pampered by her new mum, Jenny. She is already settled in and has her paws well and truelly under the table.
REPORT ON CHLOE
Pauline says, ” I called in and saw Chloe and she is getting along fine and looking good after all the brushing Jennifer has been giving her, which she loves. Chloe still isn’t a big eater but she enjoys oily fish such as sardines or pilchards which are good for her old joints. She also loves the Fish4Dogs treats so clearly knows what is good for her. She enjoys short walks around the block but she isn’t keen on going much further.”
Debbie says, “Chloe was fine, as was Jennifer when I took them out for a Sunday afternoon ride. I was pleasantly surprised by the rapport between them and although I can see that Chloe is quite slow and doesn’t want to go too far, Jenny now seems to accept this and they get on well together. We went to a nice New Forest pub where Chloe met the pub dog and we all sat outside for an hour and a half or so.
I am trying to persuade Jenny to let me have Chloe for the odd afternoon so that she gets some interaction with other dogs as I think it would be lovely for Chloe to sit in the front garden and watch the world go by as Lady Isabelle used to do . I have to say that I have really taken to Chloe. She reminds me so much of Belle. Gave her a big cuddle yesterday and she is so soft and lovely that I wanted to take her home with me!”
UPDATE FROM DEBBIE
Debbie says, “I saw Chloe yesterday and she looks great. Jennifer and Chloe now get on very well together.
I took them out in the car and then we went for a short walk over the downs. Chloe’s mobility has improved enormously, but what I really noticed was the brightness in her eyes.”
A VERY SAD UPDATE
Sadly, Chloe’s happiness was short lived and she has been taken to Rainbow Bridge.
