Daisy Scott-Miller
Sad News 11 March 2024
Daisy’s dad wrote, “In July 2015, this beautiful dog joined our family from IRR. Daisy was just as described – confident, extremely affectionate and a curious young lady. Crazy Daisy made friends wherever she went , the vets, picnics, pubs and even just sitting at the front gates greeting passing walkers. Such a sociable dog welcoming 62 foster dogs into our home and showing them the ropes and how to play. Go join Bonnie and Summer and run pain-free chasing squirrels. Alison and David”
Pauline was greatly saddened to learn of Daisy’s passing and said, “My heart really goes out to Alison and David. They have been absolutely wonderful fosterers for many years, having adopted Summer in 2006, and I know how much they adored their lovely Daisy.
She was taken from them far too soon but, for sure, she will be happy and whole again now and Daisy will definitely be enjoying being reunited with Bonnie, Summer and many of her other old friends at Rainbow Bridge.
Farewell to a very special Golden Angel.”
History
A GREAT FUTURE LIES AHEAD
Bonnie is a pure bred light pedigree female Golden Retriever who was only 11 months old when she came into IRR care.
She was not spayed but the plan was to do this when she was ready. She is micro-chipped and has received the necessary vet checks to allow her to get her Pet Passport.
She came from a lovely family who couldn’t look after her as their circumstances changed. She has always been loved and has never suffered any kind of abuse.
FOSTER ASSESSMENT
She is a bouncy gorgeous Golden Girl. She is a confident, extremely affectionate, curious young lady. She is ever eager to please and sees life as one big adventure.
SOCIAL LEARNING
Travel: Even though Bonnie was moved from three different destinations, by three different people, she took everything in her stride. Kathryn received lots of kisses on her journey. She sat looking out the window at everything passing by and, intermittently, would lick Kathryn’s neck in traffic but would wait till a red light, safety of the driver being her priority. She was, of course, very
securely restricted in the car.
Housetrained: She is, as her owner said ‘the cleanest girl I have ever had’,
and so, is housetrained.
Grooming: She will be washed and groomed as are all IRR dogs.
Leadwalking & recall: She walks well on a lead but her recall needs work.
Food: She loves her food and food possession will need to be worked on.
Children: She is good with children.
Dogs: She is great with dogs
Cats and other animals: Bonnie is not good with cats, chickens or small animals like rabbits.
BONNIE’S DREAM HOME
This beautiful girl is only starting life but, as with all puppies, boundaries must be set and she will have to be gently told what is acceptable and what is not. She would be happy in a family with another dog but not with any other furry pets. This little girl deserves the best and IRR intend to deliver our promise to her owners that she will be cherished, loved and treasured for the rest of her life.
NOT AN UNEXPECTED OUTCOME (July 2015)
Daisy’s fosterers have fallen in love with her and she will staying with David and Alison.
