Dave Christie
A SPLIT WAS NEEDED
He was, originally, half of Dermot and Dave when rescued in 2019 but it was decided they would do better if separated which very much proved to be the case. They went to be fostered in different homes and, in the end, Dermot found his forever home first.
PERSONALITY
Dave is a very handsome, friendly 2yr old Golden Retriever boy with no aggression and a love of food and going for a walk. Dave is a follower not a leader. He is good mannered and very well behaved in the home. He loves to play with people and other dogs.
SOCIAL LEARNING
Being a gentle boy, Dave can sometimes be sensitive to loud noises and can be a bit shy.
He copes well meeting new people and having new experiences … not full on in your face but well-mannered interest. He is happy to meet other dogs and owners.
He has had no problem adjusting to living with 2 bitches in his foster home and he has bonded well with the younger bitch.
Dave doesn’t really like to be left but will settle if left on his own after a bit of a moan! Dave is fine overnight.
Dave would need to be kept on the lead around livestock as he has shown interest and would probably chase if allowed. Further training, plenty of good walks and maintaining a good recall should discourage this behaviour.
We have no idea about his attitude towards cats as his foster home is cat free so they are probably best avoided.
DAVE’S DREAM HOME
A confident, kind bitch to live with would probably be perfect for him. It’s also possible he could bond well with a kind, not too pushy boy, perhaps slightly older but not too old to have the odd play! We knew Dave could not be rehomed as an only dog.
Dave is a lovely well-mannered young lad who has an awful lot to offer to the right home.
DAVE HAS HIS DREAM FOREVER HOME
Dave has gone off happily to live with Paul and family.
