Duke
FOSTER REPORT
Wendy said. “It is quite a shock on meeting Duke as he has been shaved all over and looks like an overgrown puppy. He is believed to be around eight years and looking at his teeth l think that would be correct. He is very handsome and will look even better once he grows his coat again.
He has been really good so far with lots of dogs who have visited here, he has been tested with a young child so we think he will be okay with those.
Like a lot of dogs he has a bit of lead aggression and will lunge at other dogs whilst on lead and growl, he will however happily play with dogs off lead. He does walk really well after the initial pull and enjoys going for a walk. He is also a water dog and really enjoys a good swim and retrieve.
Food wise, he is a hungry little man, often searching out food. I did catch him with his head in the dog food bin but he didn’t however touch the sandwich we left for a couple of minutes on the table to ‘test’ him, although he would happily take a biscuit out of the other dogs mouth !
He is happy to share the duvet bed with the other dogs and will wait by the door for you to let him out if he needs to go. He has barked a couple of times to be let back in but is quite happy to bask in the sunshine in the garden.
All in all a super dog, we are going to miss him when he goes.
DUKE HAS GONE TO HIS FOREVER HOME
Duke has gone to live on a small holding in Lincolnshire where he is settling in really well and is getting on with their other dog too.
