Eileen Newman
WE SAY A SAD GOODBYE TO OUR DEAR FRIEND, EILEEN (passed on 21.12.2017)
Eileen was a lovely, little lady with a very big heart. She had always adored dogs but she had a very special connection with Bracken which, we know, wasn’t broken even after Bracken crossed Rainbow Bridge. We feel sure they are now happily reunited.
Eileen had a wonderful family who she idolised. She was never happier than when she was doing something with or for them. She seemed to be forever busy, if not with the family then with one of her many friends, having coffee or shopping or lending a hand where she could.
She loved Elvis, Rod Stewart and Michael Buble and was an avid fan of tennis and Strictly Come Dancing. Her life was very full and, to outsiders, she always seemed to be very happy although she did worry about her family and all her friends when they had problems.
No matter how full her days, Eileen would always find time to help IRR if she could and, only back in August, she sent us loads of her beautiful homemade gifts tags and lavender bags for us to sell on our stall at a Village Day. She even thought of us to the last by requesting donations at her funeral be made to Irish Retriever Rescue so she could, once again, help other dogs like her beautiful Bracken.
It is hard to believe a few short weeks ago our dear friend was her usual chirpy self, happy to be dog sitting for a neighbour. Then, going day by day from a bit poorly to terminally ill, in no time, she had slipped peacefully away on Thursday 21st December 2017.
We were just a small part of her full life but her doggy friends all loved her to bits and we all miss her terribly even though lovely homemade reminders of her seem to surround us all.
Our thoughts are with Eileen’s family and other close friends at this very sad time.
Goodbye lovely lady and God bless you xx
