Fin Reeve
April 2021
Fin’s mum let us know that Fin (was Finch) was, sadly, put to sleep after a short illness. He is very greatly missed.
History
Age: young dog, exact age unknown
Sex: male, neutered
Fun-loving Finch was found as a stray and rescued by IRR.
Personality
This fantastic boy loves company and games. He is house-trained. He adores his walks and is good on his lead – however, he does have a stubborn golden character and sometimes will sit if he doesn’t want to move on. He has not been properly socialised with other dogs.
He has been working with a behaviourist at his foster home, and he is now enjoying long walks wearing a soft muzzle. IRR would commit to supporting Finch’s new owners on a programme of behavioural assessment and training to ensure he has the best life possible.
He adores people and is friendly with everyone he meets – and like so many goldies he loves to have something in his mouth when greeting people 🙂 However, he is rather exuberant so we don’t recommend him for a home with small children.
Finch’s Dream Home
This sweet-natured boy needs an active but stable home, where his owners will spend time on socialisation and training in a positive and consistent manner (with the support of IRR). He’s not recommended for young children, and he would prefer to be an only dog.
Fostered in: Spalding, Lincs
Behaviour with other animals Finch is not good with other dogs and it is recommended that he is walked with a soft muzzle.
May 2014
Finch (now Fin) has gone to his Forever Home.
