Frankie Campbell-Watson
FRANKIE is a really lovely boy. He is 18mths old, has been recently neutered and has just arrived from Ireland. He is a little hand shy but not fearful. He is very friendly with other dogs and travels well in a car.
Kaz, his fosterer, said that Molly told him off a couple of times just to let him know she is boss. Frankie is a timid lad with new things indoors, he hates things falling and Luke using a stern voice makes him hide (poor lad). He is a lovely friendly boy, loves cuddles and attention. When he comes out of his shell he will be a fantastic dog. Here he is with Kerry and Molly………………………..
UPDATE 25.03.07
Frankie stayed downstairs most of last night and woke up at 6.30am when he heard Molly moving about. They all went in garden and girls went back to bed and Frankie followed, he spent next 2 hours asleep by the side of my bed (much to Mollys disgust)
Later we walked to Erith, around the flower gardens and pier before picking up something for dinner.Frankie loved it, he does pull initially on walks and settles after the excitment has worn off. From being timid indoors he happily walked along, tail wagging passed traffic, bicycles, motorized wheelchairs. He loves to sit in front of people to be stroked which made everyone love him and got him 5 offers of a home. He also loved young children touching him all the time he has a huge smile on his face.
On returning home for refreshments, Frankie curled up in the small bed and slept, he did seem to get tired quick on the walk. He has the usual goldie look when you are eating (I have never had food) but he is not a greedy dog and takes food really gently without being told.
He is getting to know his name and sit, he already knows no and will cower if a voice is raised 🙁 We have had no counter surfer but he does like to take pens and chew the clip of his lead. Only had one accident indoors yesterday and he is not very interested in toys, which is good with Molly thinking every toy is hers 😉
Molly does not like him following her into the garden when she has a wee, trying to sniff her lady bits and when he gets too excited for walkies. Apart from that everything is fine and Kerry is mostly ignoring him and doing her usual protecting the house.
UPDATE on FRANKIE from his forever mum, Diane
Frankie is fine. We are now on the way to a big understanding. I learnt his timetable and he has learnt mine so we are jogging along OK. He sleeps with his blankets and toys in the hall by the front door ( his idea ). I have to shut all doors except that of my bedroom (my idea) so he does not eat dried flowers, newspaper, telephone directories, live flowers etc. He is a very good alarm clock and I now wake up to Frankie talking to me, one wet nose plus one paw flopped near my face. I have had to watch him in the garden as he has been eating ALL the grass which has made him gag, the grass clogging his throat, which then makes him panic. He has been fine since I stopped him. I know grass is good for them but he seemed to be obsessed and he was eating too much grass. He has filled out and looks good and is now a confident dog and very powerful but still not cocking his leg. This has caused me to be shouted at by nasty people thinking he is poo-ing and they scream at me. I try to say he has only tiddled and wave my poo bags at them. Apart from that we are fine. I love Frankie so and he seems to love and respond to me and he is learning the rules of the home. We both know our place in the pack now. Sometimes he forgets and thinks he in charge but I gently remind him. He is getting very strong but he walks to heel well until someone fusses him, which he loves, but I am trying to tell him not to jump up at people. Luckily most doggy people do not mind but I would rather he didnt so this we are working on. We are very happy together xx
