Guiness Copping
Guiness was originally called Sunny when he came into IRR care. He was about 12 months old, was neutered and, according to the vet, has had all his jabs.
FOSTER REPORT FROM DENISE
Sunny is a delightful dog!!!! He craves attention, he loves cuddles. Sometimes he can get a little over excited when you are stroking him , he will try and climb up your lap, to get closer to you. He is super with all the other dogs, he and Pudsey became the best of friends, he even seemed to understand that Pudsey could not play as a normal dog, Sunny would play so gentle with him.
He was good with the cats, he just liked to watch them.
He had little training. He didn’t seem to understand even the basics such as sit.
Denise said, “Overall Sunny is a wonderful boy, he has made a huge impact on us already and we will truly miss the chap when he moves on to better things. Some one is going to get one wonderful dog!!!!”
“In my opinion Sunny would be best suited to a home where someone is home most of the time, where there are not to many dogs to steal the attention he needs and deserves, also someone with experience of owning a dog as Sunny does need to learn a few doggie manners.”
Update on Sunny 17/04/2007 from Andy
He has settled in very well, is enjoying the attention he gets, and seems very happy. He is a very nice and loveable boy.
Sunny is house-trained, does not chew anything he shouldn’t, and is friendly with just about everything and anything. A pleasure to have around.
He is a very handsome boy who is the picture of health but he does pull on the lead. I walk him now using a harness, which is better but whoever has him, will probably need to take him to obedience classes to get him to walk properly, as he is incredibly strong. That said, his recall is quite good, and he never moves far away from you.
UPDATE ON SUNNY (now GUINESS) from his forever mum
Guinness is already part of the family, and i couldn’t imagine not having him. We have already had him microchipped, and are due to start training classes with him this month. He isn’t that good on the lead when we see other dogs!!! He get extrememly over excited! Well, he is still quite a baby as yet.
He seems to be really happy with us, and is absolutely wonderful off the lead, and daily runs around the 100 acres of fields which i keep my horse on so he gets his fair share of exercise!! He is keeping me fit too
with his 3 long walks a day!!!
Guiness is also Impeccably behaved in the house, and is wonderful with my 1yr old nephew and 4 yr old niece who run wild with him, and often stay over. He even recently came away with us to the beach for the weekend with the children and my brothers jack russell, and although we definately had our hands full, we all had a good time in the sea and sand!!
It has also worked out wonderful with me working shifts, and he is hardly ever on his own, very rarely over 2 hours, and he seems to be fine with that.
