UPDATE THREE YEARS ON (5-5- 2019)
It is easy to see that Holly is extremely happy living with Tommy who came from Black Retriever Rescue. What a beautiful pair they are!
Of course, they both adore their Dad and this was, clearly demonstrated when their nursing skills were recently needed.
In Elaine’s words, “I’m hoping the silliness of this might help to cheer you all up a little after the sadness of Belinda’s passing.
My hubby, Kim, is a very keen coarse fisherman and, last week, he went out to one of his syndicate lakes which are in the back of beyond in deepest darkest Oxfordshire.
I got a phone call from him at 7:45 in the morning in which he told me ” he was in a spot of trouble” which turned out to be he had been casting out over the lake and his right knee exploded and he was unable to weight bear.
I told him to ring for an ambulance to which he replied” I’m not leaving all my fishing tackle”. OMG men!!!
Thankfully the bailiffs helped him and got an ambulance and he, recently, had surgery as he had snapped the patellar tendon.
However with nurses like these two I think he will, soon, recover very well
HISTORY
Hayley (as she was then called) was relinquished by her owners to Michelle, the dog warden, and, subsequently, to Offaly Pound as they could not cope with her puppy behaviour!
From Offaly Pound, she was rehomed but she was returned to the Pound within a week because she was boisterous and had poor recall which actually sounds about right for a normal Golden Retriever puppy!
PERSONALITY
Like all puppies Holly is affectionate, busy and bouncy.
SOCIAL LEARNING
Holly is lacking in basic commands and tends to jump up but her fosterer has been working with her so that she will soon learn how to behave nicely.
Holly gets on with both male and female dogs. She is fine with children. She travels well in a car and she is not toy or food possessive. Having met her fosterer’s cat, Holly appreciates the need to keep her distance!
HOLLY’S DREAM HOME
Holly needs a loving home, preferably with a resident dog, where her boisterous, affectionate puppy ways can be directed through exercise, play and ongoing training, enabling her to reach her full potential as she develops into a delightful family pet.
FEBRUARY 2016
Holly has gone to her Forever Home with Elaine and Kim. We are sure Honey would have thoroughly approved of their beautiful baby girl.
Hayley is an affectionate18 month old female Golden Retriever with a vivacious personality. She has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.
