NOV 2011: HOLLY HAS NOW GONE TO HER FOREVER HOME

HOLLY’S HISTORY

Holly is a beautiful and calm 6 yr old Golden Retriever who was surrendered to IRR by her loving family due to a change in circumstances which meant that sadly they could no longer look after her.

NOV 2011: FOSTERER’S INITIAL ASSESSMENT

It’s taken a couple of days for her to settle in with her main issue being her possessiveness over toys. This meant that whenever a dog came close she would growl and bark however I’m pleased to say this behaviour was NOT displayed towards humans. Now she’s comfortable in her foster home we are not seeing this behaviour but she still loves to trash cuddly
toys.

She’s been superb with our three children and in particular our youngest, Thomas (4½ yrs) who has no issues being around her. Thomas is disabled and has recently developed a strong dislike of dogs that are playful/boisterous who demand attention. Fortunately, Holly is the complete opposite so he can approach her on his terms. She’s a very affectionate and loving girl who enjoys human contact.

Holly doesn’t like being left on her own, and will start whimpering quietly. However, on the odd occasions when she has been left there has been no destruction when we returned home. Also, Holly is fully house trained and we’ve had no problems: in fact last night she woke me at 1 a.m. needing to ‘spend a penny’.

In summary, she’s a lovable and affectionate girl who would be the perfect companion and would adapt quite easily to family life.

NOV 2011: UPDATE FROM HOLLY’S NEW HOME

Just a quick note to say a massive ‘Thank You’ to IRR for Holly, the minute we saw her we knew she was for us. She is now asleep in front of the fire after a long walk, cuddled up to my VERY happy young sons. She is adorable!! Perfect match achieved!

Thank you once again IRR!
