HOLLY’S HISTORY

Holly was surrendered to IRR with Reuben, who is also in foster.

FOSTERER’S INITIAL ASSESSMENT: UK – APRIL 2012

Holly has settled in well considering she has only been here for a couple of days. She is cat friendly and good with children and other adults; she is house trained standing at the door when she needs to go outside.

Although Holly always seems to be hungry at feeding time she shows no aggression when food is taken away and is not possessive over toys or chews. We have taken her on short lead walks and she is happy to greet other dogs in a friendly manner. She does pull a little on the lead. I have let her off lead in the small field and she came back to me after calling her name a few times.

Holly doesn’t like to be left, even for a short time, so she has the run of the house at night and is happy with that. She is a lovely dog and would make a fantastic pet for any home, although she does seem to like the company of other dogs.

FOSTERER’S SECOND REPORT APRIL 2012

Holly has become much more confident in the last few days. She is more playful and in some ways more demanding as she has developed the habit of barking at you to get your attention! Holly is an intelligent girl with a determined nature and needs someone who will spend time on her training and take her for lots of walks to use up all that puppy energy.

On a walk she is good on the lead, and travels well in the car. She is very affectionate and loves attention. I think she would be happier in a home with someone who is around most of the time as she doesn’t like being left alone for long. With some basic training, attention to recall and lots of walks Holly will make a wonderful family pet.

HOLLY HAS GONE TO HER FOREVER HOME

Update from Holly’s forever home: June 2012

Just thought I’d give you a little update after having Holly for a month to thank you for sending her our way. She is the most loving and gentle fun loving dog we have ever owned. She has settled in so well and is always out and about with us on our family trips out. She’s forever playing football and uses the trampoline for her very own sun lounger. During our recent stay at my parents’ house in Wales Holly adored their rescue lab and made us realise how much she loves being around other dogs. Once she has settled fully in a few months we will be looking for a golden friend for her to play with. I have enclosed some photos so you can see her up to her daft antics. Thanks once again.
