Honey Jarman
IN A BRILLIANT FOREVER HOME
As with all the Labradors that IRR re-homes, Honey was definitely not like a Golden Retriever and it took a little longer to get her a perfect home but she is definitely in a brilliant home now.
HISTORY
HONEY, like her name, is sweet and very loving but was hyper after the long journey from Ireland. The first night on English soil was spent with Frankie and the pair of them together was chaos as all they wanted to do was play. She plays very well, typical puppy into everything and energy to match.
Honey is a thief and a counter surfer but there is not an ounce of aggression in her, you can do anything with her
Jackie, her fosterer, said that Honey missed Lorraine after she went and was looking for her but Bridie started playing with her and she was soon happy again. She is not at all toy possessive.
Honey was known as Grubby Girl but she is lovely and clean now. She had never even seen a brush before.
Gizmo told her off once or twice because she put her nose in his face while he was sleeping when she heard him snoring so now she leaves him alone and he just watches Bridie and Honey playing.
FIRST UPDATE
Marian, her new mum says The kids love her all ready and she loves them, she does not take her eyes of them . She is very clever and I do not think I will have much trouble training her she is lovely. Thank you for looking after her.
FURTHER UPDATE on HONEY
Honey is doing really great she is now off the lead and running free in the woods which she loves. She is having a great time here. She has settled down really well and she is no trouble at all.
They all sleep in the utility room and, when it is time for bed, they all go outside in the garden, do their business, and come in and go to sleep, not a peep until the morning 6.00am, but we get up at that time anyway.
We did have a bit of a problem with jumping up me and doing play biting but I have bought a water pistol so, every time she jumps up, I spray her with the water and it has worked a treat.
She loves playing with her ball. She has got a little game she plays with it where I throw the ball and she goes and gets it and then she puts the ball into a bucket of water and tries to pick it out with her foot. Then she puts her whole head into the bucket. It is really funny to watch her. She will play like that for hours. I have to take the ball away in the end or I would get no work done in the garden.
I had a little party here recently and she was brilliant, no begging for food and no jumping up. She is really a lovely dog. We all love her and everyone that we meet loves her too.
EIGHT MONTHS ON
Marian says ” Well you would not think it was the same little dog that came to me in April. She is absolutely beautiful and we all love her very much. She has been a challenge but well worth it .
She is now about 27/ 28kg and very strong. She loves everybody and is so friendly to all dogs”.
