Pepper Hawkes
May 2020
Pepper has gone to Rainbow Bridge. Annette and David said, “We got Pepper back in 2006, we don’t know what life she had in Ireland, but she had a large bald patch on her back thigh. Our vet thought she had probably suffered a burn at some point.
Her foster carers Phil and Denise had done an excellent job looking after her when she arrived from Ireland to the time we got her.
We had her for 14 wonderful years, we couldn’t have had a more fun and loving dog. She came on numerous holidays with us mostly to Cornwall where she enjoyed long walks, playing on the beach and swimming in the sea.
A couple of years ago she developed arthritis which gradually became worse, then last Christmas she was diagnosed with chronic kidney failure and three weeks ago suddenly deteriorated and we had to make the hard decision to have her put to sleep.
The vet did it in our garden on a sunny day and she slipped away peacefully, she will always have a very special place in our hearts, but it was sadly her time to go.
We will always be grateful to IRR and Phil and Denise.”
