Ivan Warwick
GONE TO RAINBOW BRIDGE TO BE REUNITED WITH LITTLE JAKE (7.2.2019)
Bob and Chris are absolutely devasted at the loss of their beloved Ivan. He was a handsome, loving boy who had a wonderful life with them and Bonney, the Golden Retriever.
Ivan had a few problems to start with but, in Bob’s capable hands, he soon became a lovely dog and good companion to Bonney He also helped to heal the wounds left after little Jake was so tragically taken from them far too soon.
At the 2008 Reunion, Ivan competed in the intermediate obedience class walking away with 4th prize and a rosette for being the Happiest Worker in the class.
Ivan was lucky enough to have a lot of exciting walks in Devon which he happily shared with his many other doggy friends.
He passed away peacefully knowing he was very much loved.
Pauline said, “I was so sad when I received Bob’s text. I well remember when Ivan was in foster with us here, albeit for a very short time. Of course his friends, Danny and Gizmo, will have been at Rainbow Bridge on Monday ready to welcome him and, for sure, little Jake would have been there too.
Fly high with the angels, sweet boy”.
CHRIS REMEMBERS IVAN
Chris told us, “What a surprise for me it was when I got home from work to see Ivan here waiting to meet me. He was a lovely boy.
Our first evening with him was a funny one. I was doing sausages for tea, like you do. I put them on a plate on the side but when I went to cook them, there was Ivan looking at me with a
smile and licking his lips. I knew it wouldn’t have been Bonney as he never took food from the side.
We enjoyed all of our walks with Ivan and Bonney. They both enjoyed swimming so we did that a lot in the warm weather. Ivan loved playing ball with his friends but, as he got older, we had to stop that because of his legs.
When Bonney passed away, Ivan gave us the support, love, and comfort to carry on. The last couple of years that Ivan was with us, I walked him all the time as Bob’s legs are not so good any more.
Ivan was by my side day and night. It has been so hard since we lost him. He went so quickly but he is with Jake and Bonney now. He was loved so much.
Thank you so much to IRR for all you have done for us”.
ISAAC & IVAN
HISTORY
Isaac and Ivan were both approximately 18 month old in 2007. They were two real characters who loved to play all day long together.
Ivan is a golden retriever / rough collie cross. He was quieter then Isaac, more reserved (even a little timid). But both are lovely dogs.
UPDATE on ISACC
Having been neutered in Ireland, the boys arrived in the UK and went into foster with Tina in Teddington. Isaac was unaffected by his operation and wanted to play as usual but poor Ivan was very sore and took great exception to this so they had to be split immediately. Isaac has not missed Ivan at all and is currently enjoying loads of cuddles and attention from Tina. He also loves his long walks in the park. Everybody has fallen in love with him so much so that he has now been adopted by Tina and her family.
UPDATE on IVAN
Having been neutered in Ireland, the boys arrived in the UK and went into foster with Tina in Teddington. Isaac was unaffected by his operation and wanted to play as usual but poor Ivan was very sore and took great exception to this so they had to be split immediately. Ivan is now with Pauline and her boys in Somerset. He was a bit grumbly to start with but some Acute Trauma remedy eased his soreness. Danny did his usual brilliant job of making Ivan welcome in his own gentle way and now, after a week, Ivan is even best of friends with her very in your face Gizmo.
He is a very beautiful dog, with a lovely thick coat. He is very reminiscent of a large Sheltie or small Rough Collie. His new owner will have to be prepared to groom him very regularly which he loves, fortunately.
Ivan has made lots of new doggy friends and human ones too.
A WONDERFUL FOREVER HOME IN DEVON
Ivan has now gone to live in Devon where he will benefit from the lovely country and coastal walks with his new doggy friend.
His best friend is Bob’s (male) Golden Retriever Bonney.
