Kaleigh Williamson
KALEIGH’S HISTORY
Kaleigh, then called Lily, was picked up as a stray in Ireland, and came across with Foxy and Louis. She was in a terrible state, filthy, smelly, with a horrible matted coat. Jan, who met the transport, was kind enough to bath her before sending her to Andy and Val and amazingly, under all that mess, was a beautiful, almost white Retriever with the softest coat they had ever seen.
Andy said “She’s very gentle, and so loving. All she wants is constant fuss, and most people are more than happy to oblige. She’s very good on the lead, fine with other dogs. She needs a little work on her house training, but is learning. She’s going to make some lucky person a wonderful companion, providing that is they can prise her away from my mother. She may have a gentle nature, but Kaleigh is undoubtedly the biggest cuddle monster we’ve met, never happier than when you’re giving her a fuss, and very quick to remind you not to stop. None of this shaking paws business for Kaleigh, you’re greeted with a big hug and kiss”.
At not much more than 9 months old when rescued, she was found to be very calm, a joy on the lead, and soon learned to love going in the car. Taking her for walks was a bit of a prolonged affair though, as everyone wanted to stop and fuss her, and of course, Kaleigh was more than happy to oblige.
Kaleigh’s new owners spent a happy weekend with her and made sure that she and another dog (their mum’s) would be totally compatible and then returned the following weekend to collect her and take her home.
KALEIGH’S BIG SURPRISE
A tubbier Kaleigh went off to her wonderful new home in Surrey and all was well until we found out her rapid weight gain was because she was about to have babies
THE TIRED BUT HAPPY MUM
Mum and baby were doing well with the help of experienced Guide Dog Puppy nurse, Joy, who had seen it all before and her Tara, a GDBA Golden Retriever breeding lady.
