Lea

INITIAL REPORT

LEA then called MIA was fostered by Andy and Val in the Midlands. She is a lovely gentle girl of about 5 years old.

She’s a very easy dog to keep, who’s absolutely no trouble at all. She’s very affectionate with people and loves children especially, she’s also fine with other dogs, and I’m told cats, although I can’t personally verify this.

House trained, good on the lead, good recall, and can be happily left for a few hours without any fuss or bother. Mia loves to play with her toys on the lawn, and is delighted if you join in. She loves having her tummy tickled, and lying by your feet when you sit down.

Mia could do with losing a few pounds, but as she isn’t too bothered about food (yes she is a goldie) I think regular exercise would remedy this.
She’s quite timid, and easily spooked by load noises, and traffic.

LEA IN HER FOREVER HOME

Hello everyone – Lea here. I’ve been at my forever home for a week now. I was a bit nervous when I went in the car leaving Val and Andy’s who looked after me so well since I came across from Ireland, but when I arrived at my new home, I just wanted to settle in and explore.

Dave and Jo (Dad & Mum) are really happy with me. I’ve had no accidents and I have been as good as gold around the house. I get lots and lots of fuss but, as always, I could be fussed all day and I wouldn’t complain!

I wasn’t too keen on going for walks when I arrived, I just used to lie down on the pavement and refuse to move, but Dad and Mum encouraged me up and I found a big grassed playing field to run around on and the woods at the back of home! There are lots and lots of muddy puddles in the woods and I love to crawl through them getting as muddy as possible, it takes Dad and Mum ages to clean me up after we get back!

I have met a few people, my Nan and Granddad, Uncle Neil and Auntie Alex (I enjoyed running around the playing fields with Uncle Neil last Friday) and I’ve met another family with an 11 yr old Golden Retriever called Sera. She doesn’t like running around as much as I do but we get on well and I had a nice stroll with her before we went into the woods. I’ve met a couple of Dad’s workmates’ children and I’ve really enjoyed playing and fussing with them.

Anyway, I think I can hear Mum making my tea so I must go and investigate.

Thank you to everyone at IRR for finding me a really nice home and for making my new Dad and Mum so happy.
