Leo

NOV 2011: LEO HAS NOW GONE TO HIS FOREVER HOME

OCT 2011: FOSTERER’S INITIAL REPORT

Andy says: Leo is a 5 year old Golden Retriever boy who has only been with us for a relatively short time, but he’s already settled in quite nicely. He gets on well with Smudge, and is very popular with everyone he meets. He lived with children previously, so is used to having them around, and reputedly adores them. He is perfectly house trained, understands basic commands like sit, and gives his paw when asked. He’s fine to be left, and so far hasn’t shown any inclination to chew anything. Leo’s a very loving boy, and is rarely more then a yard away from you. He seems quite intelligent, and is very curious about everything going on. I haven’t tried him in the car yet, but David, who collected him said he travelled quite happily. He’s a happy, healthy boy, who would be the ideal addition to any family.

NOV 2011: UPDATE FROM LEO’S NEW HOME

Leo’s new family say: Well Leo is one happy doggy!!! he is SOOOOOOOOO lovely, we absolutely adore him. He’s easy to have around and doesn’t do much really. He really loves us and cuddles, especially in the morning when he comes onto our bed.

We took him for 2 long walks to huge fields and also the beach (lots of clay mud type stuff) – he loved it!! It’s the first time we heard him bark and it was through excitement! He loves to run and catch a ball and rub himself in anything disgusting really. He had a bath on Sunday and was all fluffy and gorgeous.

He is still a bit nervous in new situations and we need to do some work on road sense as he hasn’t got a clue but that will come. He loves us and has made himself at home in the house. We are trying to get him to sleep in his basket downstairs. He goes in reluctantly and stays there for a while but by Midnight he’s usually on our bedroom floor!

We really love him to bits already and thank you so much IRR for arranging for us to have him – he has completed our family again. We are such ‘dog people’ and without Dude (our previous dog) things were not quite right, but now we feel the family is all back together again and we are glad we can give Leo a good loving home.

We are keeping his name as we like it, it suits him and we don’t think it’s fair to change it anyway.
Thanks again to IRR for everything.
