Finding My Way Home – Libby’s poem
Five weeks ago on the emerald isle
I was wandering lonely
With no trace of a smile
Then kind hearted Sandie gave me shelter
With food, drink and love
And called me “a belter”
Soon after I travelled by land and sea
To be met by a fosterer called Susie
This family had a pack of three
Young Bella, Lively Harvey
And the elder Barney
I loved it there
So I did my saddest face
I really didn’t want to leave this place!
Then I got the news
They were keeping me
And never have I felt so darned happy
And now my days are full of joys
There’s walkies galore
There’s hugs and toys
My favourite place is by the sea
We run and and we swim
I’m so happy
My previously heavily matted tail
Waves in the air
Proud like a sail
I’m a permanent member of Susie’s pack
So never again
Will love I lack
