Lina Jarvis

Lina is a female 4yr old, medium size, spayed Springer Spaniel x Collie. She is being rehomed due to her present owner’s illness and subsequent hospitalisation as is her friend Chance.

Lina is a happy lively dog, who is friendly with other dogs. She ignores the 4 cats and 2 dogs that she is living with in her home.

Lina appears to be great with children of all ages although she is most used to teenagers. She has had some obedience and agility training and is crate trained.

She is very sweet natured and loves cuddles!! The ideal person for her would be around for most of the day.

As Lina is a Springer Spaniel x Collie she will need to go to a loving home where her family understands that she needs constant stimulation and plenty of exercise. Also it would be nice if they could continue with Lina’s Agility and Obedience training.

UPDATE 1/3/2010

Lina is currently in foster with Ursula who says. “Lina is a gorgeous tri colour sprollie. She is very slim and very agile and loves to play racey chasey with other dogs.

She is very sociable with dog and is good with cats. She is lovely with children and enjoys cuddles very much.

Lina is well trained, is well mannered in the house, house trained and obedient. She loves to go for walks though and be active. She has a good recall, but certainly has the Spaniel traits of investigating the undergrowth and using her nose.

Indoors Lina is very pleasant, not noisy and when exercised enough she usually likes to sleep, preferably on somebody’s bed.

Lina was trained on Agility equipment and gets really excited and vocal in that environment. She is very fast over the obstacles and probably would make a cracking Agility dog.

She is no trouble during walks, as she is fine with other dogs and ignores horses. She really is a good all rounder for an active person.

Lina is a lovely, uncomplicated companion for an active home. She has no problems or hang ups.”

LINA’S NEW HOME

Lina has gone to live in Surrey with Maggie and Alan who are absolutely perfect for her.

Maggie had 2 Border Collies before (both came with issues of anxiety and separation problems) and they also had a JR cross, who used to run off and had been beaten when coming back, in his former home. They have had to display a lot of patience and common sense with all of their dogs to help them to overcome their issues so Lina couldn’t find a better or more understanding home. They only have the best interests of their dog in mind and they, therefore, took introductions slowly to make sure everything would be perfect for Lina.

Ursula says “Maggie and Alan first met Lina on 17th Feb and we all went for a walk. It seemed that Alan really liked her. Lina was a bit aloof with them and too busy doing Spaniel things on her walk but they were quite surprised that, after the walk, she was quite cuddly and even gave kisses to Alan. I sent them home to think about it and suggested to Alan, that if they decide to adopt her, he could always come and visit Lina while Maggie was away on her holiday, so he could start to get to know her a bit better and this is what he did.”

Though they don’t have a large garden, they have a country park across the road and a huge golf course around the corner. Lina has already had a thoroughly enjoyable caravan holiday with them.

UPDATE FROM MAGGIE

Lina is doing very well. We are not sure how much she is enjoying her agility yet but it’s early days. You can tell she has done it before because she does everything right. As this was our first class, all the dogs kept their leads on but we let go of them when they did each obstacle.

Some dogs weren’t as well behaved as Lina. I don’t think Lina needs her lead on most of the time. Each week more of the course will come together but most of the dogs have never done it before so I think Lina will show them how it’s done!
