LIFE CAN BE SO CRUEL (22.2.2020)

A distraught Val reported on Facebook “This is Lola, she was our foster baby from April to August last year and then she went to her wonderful Forever Home which was only 30mins away from us.

Sadly, today, we have all had to say our goodbyes to Lola. Her little body was full of cancer. We will always love you Angel Lola xxx”

Pauline reflected “Life can be so cruel. Please give our condolences to Debbie and Tim and tell them we are all sending them our hugs of support”.

There is no justice in this world. The poor love deserved more than just a few short months of happiness, bless her, but, for sure, you all gave her that and, maybe, such a short time to heal was all she needed. At least, she left this cruel life peacefully and surrounded by love”.

A couple of days later, Val told Pauline “As you can imagine we are all devastated. It seems to make things worse in that poor little Lola was such a sweet adorable, loving little girl, even though she had, obviously, gone through an awful lot of horrendous things in her life, all of which had left her with physical scars as well as mental scars, bless her.

At least, she got to spend one very happy Christmas with Debbie, Tim and Ozzie. She even got to dress up and she really looked the part. She was always so happy to join in the fun.

She learned about family life and how good it can be to just stretch out on the mat and chill.

Barry and I went with Debbie and Tim to the Vets on Saturday. We wanted to support them as much as we could and, of course, we also wanted to say our own goodbyes too. We then left them alone over the weekend to do their own grieving in private.

We are all feeling really sad at the moment but our boys are helping a lot”.

LOLA DESERVES THE BEST TRIBUTE POSSIBLE

Debbie thanked us for our support and said  “We were devastated that little Lola had such a short time with but, at least, we know she was loved and cared for by her foster parents and us.

She was absolutely gorgeous and full of character.  She was also very photogenic. It was impossible to choose from our photos as we love them all.

We only had her for a few months but she was truly loved and was such a good, kind, loving bundle of fur. Ozzie, her older brother, misses her very much too as she changed his life as well when she joined our family.

Tim and I are more than happy to have her remembered, we will definitely never forget her and she deserves a fitting tribute, at the very least.

We hardly got to know you but fell in love with you
You had a lovely aura of violet, pink and blue
You stole the hearts of Val and boys who helped you on your way
To your final home with Ozzie where you were going to stay
We hoped days would be many but it wasn’t meant to be
Still you were very happy and adored for all to see
You loved your little outings and riding in the car
And taking walks with Tim and Deb if they didn’t go too far
So fly free now sweet angel and enjoy your days to come
At Rainbow Bridge with all the friends who wait to greet their mum.
You now take special memories of people good and kind
The bad times all forgotten and banished from your mind.

LOLA’S HISTORY

Our lovely old Lola is a 12 year old female Golden Retriever. She was fostered in Lincolnshire with Val and Barry and their dogs from April to August 2019.

FOSTER ASSESSMENT

Val, her foster mum, said “Lola is dog friendly so she can live with a resident dog or be an only dog if she has human company.

She is good in the house and is a very easy girl, good natured and very sweet. She would be happy with just a 30 minute walk, once a day.

HER DREAM HOME

Lola is a lovely older GR girl looking for a retirement home where she can spend most of the day with her family.

She would be a wonderful companion for an older person / couple or just someone happy to go along with Lola’s relaxed pace of life.

A PERFECT FOREVER HOME (AUGUST 2019)

Marvellous news. Debbie and Tim fell in love with Lola and offered her a Forever Home with them. The cherry on the cake was that it was hardly any distance from Val and Barry’s home.

Early reports were that Lola was doing really well.
