Madison

(Was Susie)

MADISON’S HISTORY

Madison is a six month old puppy who was surrendered by her owner.

1st FOSTERER’S INITIAL REPORT – UK: March 2012

Madison has met 2 cats and was very playful with them. Madison gets on very well with other dogs, but does pull on the lead to get to them as she wants to play.

Lead training will need to be continued. She eats 2 good meals a day, but I have found that when you leave her alone, she will leave her food to see where you have gone. She loves human company and wants to be near you all the time.

Madison travels well in the car and she is learning some basic commands. At the moment she understands the command `sit’, but doesn’t always do it first time, unless offered a treat. Madison is food orientated, so will be easy to train. She also has a tendency towards counter surfing for food, so a watchful eye will be needed in the kitchen and near food.

2nd FOSTERER’S INITIAL REPORT – UK: MARCH

Madison is now in foster in Norfolk.

Ive found Susie to be a typical puppy; very inquisitive and outgoing as well as confident. I havent found her to be scared of anything, not even the grumpy Jack Russell next door, who gave a growl at her, but she just barked back at him with a waggy tail, which shut him up immediately 😉

She is very good with children, and has met my neighbour`s 3yr old grandson and was very gentle with him, so I would have no problem with her mixing with young children of any age.

Housetraining is improving as the days go by; she has only had a couple of accidents in the house, and both times I was busy and didn’t see the signs.

Susie is going to make someone a very nice pet and I know with the right owner she will turn out to be a very well balanced dog who will be a pleasure to have as part of the family. She would make an excellent pet for a family with children and could also benefit greatly from having another dog around to show her the ropes.

Im going to miss her lots when she goes to her new home, Ive really enjoyed looking after Susie.

2nd FOSTERER’S SECOND REPORT – UK: APRIL 2012

I am very happy to be able to say that Madison (or Madi for short) went to her lovely new home on Friday 13th April and it was certainly a lucky day for all 🙂

Joann and her lads were wowed by Susie and her very playful character. She also has a brand new canine friend to play with called Coco. I am sure that Susie is going to be very happy with her new family.

I really enjoyed fostering Susie, and shed a tear or two when she went, I’m really happy that she is getting on so well with her new family.

REPORT FROM MADISON’S FOREVER HOME – APRIL 2012

Just to let you know that Madison (was Susie) has settled in really well. She hasn’t used the crate once and she has chewed nothing!!! She and Coco are now the best of friends. Today I let her off the lead and when called, she came straight back. She walks really well on her lead and doesn’t pull and is clean in the house. She is a real darling. Only one more hurdle and that’s being left, but we are working on that one very slowly. My brother has started obedience training with her and I don’t know who enjoys it more – him or the dog!!!! Thank you so much for letting me adopt her. She is already a very much loved member of the family.

2ND REPORT FROM MADISON’S FOREVER HOME – AUGUST 2012

Just though I’d drop you a line to let you know how Madison is getting on.

As you can see from the photos, she has settled in really well and has lots of friends. Unfortunately I couldn’t get any good photos of the dogs out together as they never stand still long enough.

Madi and Coco are great mates and the little black ‘blob’ is Kiera, our Shi tzu.

Madison has settled really well and is a lot more secure in herself now. She no longer stops eating to follow you when you leave the room and the neighbours assure me that she doesn’t bark when left.

She does however sit on the sofa – or window sill to await our return. Most people have a vase of flowers in their window – we have a Golden Retriever, and the ‘snot art’ she leaves on the windows is quite remarkable. She really is a talented dog!!! lol.

She is a great favourite with the neighbours and anyone passing the garden that stops to fuss her (which is everyone basically because she is so beautiful).

Madison is really coming on in leaps and bounds now, her latest trick being bringing me her dish when she’s hungry!!!!! As soon as she hears music being played, she is up on her back legs dancing!!!

We all love her to bits and her character is certainly beginning to shine through.
