Max

History

Max is approximately 5 to 8yrs old and came to IRR after his owner sadly died. Currently Max is heartbroken and confused and is spending some time in foster care where he can rest and have plenty of one to one attention to help him to heal.

Personality

Max is affectionate, playful, loyal and loving. He gets on well with other dogs.

Social learning

Max was a little unkempt on arrival, this was dealt with following a visit to the vets and Max enjoyed being groomed. He has settled well in his present foster home and is more relaxed and gaining in confidence. Max was not bothered at all by the recent night storms. He greets his fosterer with a display of happiness, responds well to basic commands and is eager to please.

Dream home

Max formed a strong and enduring bond with his previous owner and will therefore need the same opportunity to be included in family life. He is not a dog who can be left alone for long periods as it will take him some time to adjust to his recent loss. Human company is going to be key to helping Max to enjoy life again.
