Max
Sad News 12 August 2022
Fiona said, “Sadly, Max went to Rainbow Bridge on Friday 12 August 2022. He was a great companion for my dad after my mum passed 11 years ago. Fly high Max, you will be sorely missed.”
INITIAL ASSESSMENT – 18/12/2010
Max is a 10 to 12 month old neutered and vaccinated Golden Retriever who was fostered by Jenny and Julie who said. “Max is a beautiful, friendly and playful boy who loves meeting people. He bonds quickly, walks well on the lead and doesn’t mind being left alone for short periods.
It appears Max has had to fend for himself for some of his short life, so he can come across as more independent and mature than the average pup of his age. However, after a week in a home environment with love and regular meals he has relaxed enough to reconnect with his ‘puppy’ self; he’s so excited and happy he never stops playing. He loves toys, especially balls and soft toys.
Max is very good around other dogs. He is living happily with our two dogs and is friendly and accepting of dogs he meets outside on walks. Max has not been tested with cats or children in a home environment.
At some point in his life someone has spent time with Max teaching him some basic obedience, so Max understands sit’;
lie down’ and `stay’. He’s also house trained and he’s not at all destructive. All in all he’s a joy to have around.
UPDATE 1/01/2011
Max has been with us for three weeks now. He continues to explore missed stages of his puppy development and still likes to`mouth’ during play and is learning to be gentle. Because of this Max would probably be best suited to a home without young children.
Overall, Max is a very friendly and affectionate boy with a lot of love to give. Max can be left for short periods by himself but he likes to be part of family life, so he would benefit from living with an older, confident dog if he was to be left in the home frequently.
MAX HAS LEFT THE BUILDING
Max left for his new life in Scotland on 8 January. They all got on very well together, and all our love goes with him on his 300 mile plus journey to his new home.
