Miller
MILLER’S HISTORY
Miller has lived with 2 other dogs, but was surrendered by his owners as one of the dogs kept attacking him.
FOSTERER’S INITIAL REPORT – IRELAND: MARCH 2012
Miller was born in October 2009. His previous owners report that he is good with children and other dogs; good on the recall and not food possessive. He’s totally bewildered as to what has happened to him, but will soon relax once settled. He’s very biddable.
FOSTERER’S REPORT – UK: MARCH 2012
Miller is a lovely natured dog. He was nervous on the day he arrived, and wouldn’t eat. He is very thin so I was thankful that he ate a hearty breakfast the following morning.
On Sunday we walked him with all our dogs, and he was happy in their company. He’s really come out of himself as the days have gone on and he plays like a puppy in the garden with our Jack Russell ‘Esme’. He has also been fine with the local cats.
He spends most of his time outdoors. He will not take treats from you, doesn’t attempt to climb stairs, so I assume he’s been an outdoor guy for all his life.
He craves attention (which he gets plenty of) and he will benefit from some lead training.
Miller is going to make a great pet for someone, maybe a person with another dog who could help Miller to build up confidence.
FOSTERER’S SECOND REPORT – UK MARCH 2012
Miller has settled really well. He sleeps with our Jack Russell in the kitchen; he still doesn’t take the option of sleeping on the duvet because he prefers the tiled floor.
He enjoys his twice daily walks and his lead walking is improving with the use of a harness. He is fine with the traffic unless something particularly noisy comes by.
Miller still doesn’t have the best appetite. He tends to enjoy one good evening meal, which may be what he has been used to.
He is fine with other dogs and cats; he is also great with adults and children alike.
He enjoys the garden and spends a lot of time out there, very contended or racing around like a puppy chasing and playing with the Jack Russell.
He is a bit of a `chewer’, adopters may need to make sure they haven’t left a pair of slippers about! He still craves attention but will settle at your feet. He will make a great well-mannered and faithful pet for someone.
MILLER HAS FOUND HIS FOREVER HOME – MAY 2012
Lucky Miller has won the heart of Carole, his fosterer. Here is what Carole had to say:
“Miller came to us and I was adamant that he was only going to be a foster dog, but I fell in love at our first meeting. He is gentle and so handsome I don’t think anyone could resist him. He’s settled so well, and has discovered the advantages of sleeping on a duvet instead of a tiled floor and how wonderful treats are. I’m afraid I fell at the first hurdle and became an adopter instead of a fosterer just like others before me!!”
Sometimes things are just meant to be. We all wish Miller a long and happy life with his new family.
