Molly
Molly is a 4 year old Golden Retriever who was surrendered due to a change in family circumstances. She was fostered by Jonathan and his family.
Jonathan said. “Molly came to us early hours of Sunday morning 8/5/11 and my wife had a few tears as she looked just like our last IRR dog Tilly. She was very timid and frightened and did not want to leave Dave the transporter. It took a little while for her to get into the car but luckily we don’t live too far from where we collected her from. On arrival she went straight into the garden to have a sniff around, we introduced Ellie our 7 year old Lab and she was very scared and hid behind us. We left her to get used to her new surroundings and where things were. Later that morning we took them both out for a walk and Molly showed great manners, no pulling on the lead, sat on command – what a sweet lovely girl.
UPDATE ONE WEEK LATER
Molly is coming along great, she loves her walks and our children and cuddles, lots of them. Molly has come to us very well trained with all the basic commands and more. After a couple of days of having Molly we thought she might have hip problems as she was having problems getting up and down our back step. We monitored the problem for a while and saw that as the days went by she was getting better and better. She is now fine we think it might have been the trauma of having to leave her last home where she was obviously well loved.
It has now been 3 weeks and we have fallen in love with Molly and she has built up such a strong bond with our Ellie. She is still very timid around other dogs until Ellie goes up to them first then she bounces round like tigger on springs, it is so funny to see. Molly has now put on weight and is now 28.5kg.
We have fallen in love with Molly that much and she has with us that we have asked to keep her and kindly Lorraine has said yes… “
UPDATE DEC 2011
Molly had a wonderful first chritmas in the Smith house hold. She really is the most wonderful girl and it feels like she has been with us forever.
I have never met a dog that is so gentle and loving and durring the cold winter nights she has become my Molly blanket.
Her partnership with my labrador Ellie is very special not one crossword from the day they met. Watching them play and cuddle up together is so special.
We are so very blessed to have Molly in our lives.
