Monty
When MONTY arrived in IRR care, he was called RYAN and was about 3-4 yrs old. He was neutered and great with other dogs. He initially stayed with Sandie who said “He is totally calm and chilled out about everything. He was a little nervous if approached suddenly to begin with but has got used to all the movement going on around him here (hoover etc.) and not a bother out of him. He’s wonderful. On arrival in the UK, he went into foster with Andy and Val”.
ANDY’S ASSESSMENT
Ryan is proving to be a lovely dog. He’s house trained, walks beautifully
on the lead and loves everyone.
He’s a very low maintenance dog who loves his walks and lots of fuss, with a big waggy tail. As Sandie quite rightly said, he’s very laid back, and seems to take everything in his stride. A pleasure to have around.
I’m afraid the pictures don’t do Ryan justice, he’s much more cuddly in the flesh.
UPDATE FROM ANDY
He’s been a pleasure to have around over the holidays and is a lovely dog. He can be left without incident and walks well on the lead. Ryan loves meeting anyone, on two legs or four, and is even cat friendly. He’s fine in the car, jumping in and out quite happily and sits and watches the world go by as you drive.
Bad points? ……. none really, he moults like crazy but that’s hardly his fault. As you’ll see from the picture (Trying to decide which prezzie to play with Christmas morning), he’s a ‘solidly’ built boy. I think whoever has him, will have to be quite disciplined in making sure he has plenty of exercise, which isn’t difficult as he loves his walks. He isn’t food mad and, although he eats well, doesn’t beg for food, and isn’t really bothered about treats. So I just think he needs regular exercise to make sure he doesn’t put any more weight on.
Anyone lucky enough to have Ryan, is going to get a big, daft teddy bear of a goldie, who’s so laid back it’s untrue. Never happier than when being fussed, but also quite happy to find a comfy spot and settle quietly on his own.
Our next-door neighbours grandaughter says he looks like a polar bear.
RYAN HAS GONE TO HIS FOREVER HOME
Andy said “Ryan went off happily to his forever home this morning.
The two dogs just wanted to play, I think. They are both pretty laid back characters.”
RYAN (NOW MONTY) IN HIS FOREVER HOME
Maria and (dad) Andy say “We have re-named him Monty. He has settled in really well and is so well behaved and loving. We still can not see how someone could part with him. He loves his walks and will walk for miles over the fields and loves getting muddy and wet.”
