History

Nushka is a Golden Retriever X who had a dreadful start in life and was originally rescued from a high kill shelter in Romania.

Personality
Nushka is a calm, very friendly girl, who adores cuddles and being fussed however her fluffy appearance and gentle ways mean she could easily be spoilt but she readily responds to any boundaries that are set for her. She is generally
good with adults and children.

Social Learning

Training is ongoing and, using distraction techniques, treats and positive reinforcement, Nushka is improving all the time so, to best help her, this training would need to be continued.

Housetraining: She is fully house trained.

Lead walking: She generally walks well on the lead. The only exception to this is that, although she is fine with most dogs, with others she can pull strongly towards them and for some reason does not seem to like them.

Training: using distraction techniques, treats and positive reinforcement has led to some improvement and this training would need to be continued. A slightly older, calm male companion dog to show her the ropes may possibly be the answer for her. If he could impart the calming signals to her then she could learn to do the same when she is feeling fearful.

Children: Although Nushka has not lived with children, she seems to be really good with all humans so older ones should be fine with her. She has behaved impeccably with the fosterer’s grandchildren.

Cats: She has not been tested with cats.

Dream Home

This loveable, gorgeous dog needs an experienced owner or owners who have the time available and who will be willing to continue the positive training methods to get the best out of her. We are sure that Nushka would soon become an important member and great addition to a loving family.
