Oscar

Age:10 months

Sex: male, neutered

History

Oscar was surrendered to IRR because his family didn’t have time for him.

Personality
Oscar is a typical young male golden who needs plenty of exercise and attention. He’s not particularly motivated by food, but appears to be bright and easy to train regardless, and has started to learn his basic commands very quickly. He is friendly with other dogs that he meets on walks, but he does seem to be territorial about his toys if other dogs come into his home – this is normally an issue that can be resolved with training.

Oscar LOVES his walks but he does still jump up at everyone he meets, which is typical puppy behaviour and will need ongoing positive training. He especially likes accompanying his fosterer to the pub, and is extremely friendly with everyone he meets there and adores the attention he inevitably gets because he is so gorgeous. He also loves to chew – particularly paper and cardboard.

He sleeps through the night and appears to be used to sleeping on a human bed 🙂

Oscar’s dream home
This adorable, fun-loving boy would like a secure home to settle into in 2014. Since he has been largely left to his own devices he would be best placed in an active, dog-savvy home where everyone is committed to giving him the exercise and positive training that he needs on an ongoing basis. We think he would prefer to be an only dog.

Behaviour with other animals:
Friendly with other dogs, untested with cats.

Fostered in: Spalding, Lincs.
