Paddy Ruddick

Gone to Rainbow Bridge

GOODBYE TO OUR DEAR FRIEND  (7.10.2014)

Mary told us their beloved Paddy was peacefully put to sleep on 7 October 2014.

Paddy had a huge 3kg cancerous tumour removed from his stomach cavity on 18.8.2014 from which he made a brilliant recovery but, unfortunately, it only gave him 7 weeks before it grew back. Knowing exactly what they were dealing with as soon as Paddy stopped eating and started losing interest, Mary and Ray took the very hard decision to put him to sleep. Mary said “We have a lovely vet who we trust and he agreed it was time so, with me sitting on floor and Paddy lying across my lap, whilst feeding him bits of beef, we let him go.

The circle closed as we got him 15 October 2005. He was such a good dog. From day one he settled in and was such good company. We miss him so much”.

Everyone at IRR would like to thank you for giving Paddy nine wonderful years and for, unselfishly, putting your heartbreak to one side in order to give him peace so gently, whilst cradled in loving arms.

A MESSAGE FROM PADDY

I’m so sorry I left you
I need you to know
My maker was calling
And I had to go
I’m now in Gods garden
And he loves me too
I’m healthy and whole
What you told me was true

You said God would love me
You said I’d be free
To prance like a puppy
To water each tree
To dance in the breeze
To sing in the rain
You set free my spirit
And ended my pain

Our lives were entwined
By a dark golden thread
It can never be broken
I’m just sleeping, not dead
I’m the feather that flutters
White and pure as the snow
I’m the angel beside you
To guide where you go

Thank you for loving me,
Thank you for caring
For opening your heart
And so happily sharing
Nine years of our lives
Every day was just great
Be sure, I’ll await you
At the Rainbow Bridge gate.

In God’s Golden gang
I’ll have fun here for now
Dry your tears, I am fine
And I’m making a vow
One day in the future
We’ll once again meet
All here, back together
The circle complete

PADDY’S HISTORY

SCOTT no 2 was fostered by Kate and her family in Northampton and got on really well with Biddy, their own IRR dog. They almost failed as fosterers being very tempted to keep him themselves but he was very successfully rehomed down South. Well, who could fail to love Paddy?
