Paddy’s mum Anne said, “I’m sorry to inform you that Paddy died today. He had been suffering from Cushing’s syndrome for four years. The related complications meant we had to have him put to sleep today. He was a wonderful companion and friend. A character second to none. He was much loved and will be missed forever.”
PADDY’S HISTORY
Paddy’s Mum, Bella, was surrendered in Ireland due to a change in family circumstances. She is a Retriever mix and looks as though she has been crossed with a Cocker Spaniel. She is quite small, about 14 inches.
It seems Bella was in heat while she was in the Dog Pound and nature ran its course. IRR had no idea when Bella came to the UK she was already pregnant and it wasn’t until her adoptive family took her to the vet for a check up a few weeks after her adoption, it was discovered she was due to give birth within 2 weeks. On 5th August 2012 Bella gave birth to 7 beautiful puppies. Paddy was number six.
UK FOSTERER’S FIRST REPORT (11th October 2012)
This little boy likes to bark then run away. He loves a cuddle and is the first to greet you. He always seems to have a wet head, because he likes dipping his nose under the water in his bowl. He is very loving and is getting along well with Zoey (our dog) and the cats.
Paddy went to his forever home – 31st October 2012
“Good luck Paddy, keep safe and enjoy life”.
UPDATE FROM PADDY’S FOREVER HOME (November 2012)
Paddy came to us almost one month ago and what a month. He has breathed new life into the house.
When he arrived he was naturally a little wary and shy. That lasted a whole five minutes and now it’s like he has always been here.
He has met the vet and most of our friends and neighbours and was of course a hit with all of them.
We took him to the beach on Sunday, he loved it. The only problem he had was when some of the walkers didn’t want to talk to him, How could anyone pass such a cute bundle? Anyway once he realised it was their loss he marched back to the car.
He travels well and stands looking out of the back window telling the cars to slow down.
All in all he is an absolute joy; good company and jolly.
We look forward to him growing into his very large feet and spending many happy years with him.
