Peanut Thompson-Hurrell
Update May 2021
History
PEANUT WAS GOING TO BE WITH DUDLEY FOREVER
Peanut is one of the 6 puppies born to Cassie on 1st May 2015. The 4 boys are Louis, Teddy, Murphy and Dudley. The other girl is Unity.
Rachel, their forever Mum, told us Peanut and Dudley have settled into their new home rather well. Already almost completely housetrained, they have only had a couple of accidents, probably due to over-excitement.
Having been to the vets twice, she has totally fallen for both of them and has given them the thumbs up. Peanut is all wagging tails and kisses when she is there. Both have new collars and leads and look very cute. They have had a couple of outings in the car, being very good and settling down quickly after just giving a little whimper and, having had their injections, wormers and flea treatment, everyone is looking forward to when they are able to go out properly into the big wide world.
At dinner time, they both sit rigidly waiting for it to be prepared and they get very excited when the bowl comes towards them.
However, they have already learnt to sit and wait before it is put down. Apparently, Peanut has to clean and shine the whole bowl (top, edge and bottom) before she will walk away.
Play time is also funny but generally civil. Occasionally they get a little over-excited but they are just separated and are placed at different ends of the living room to calm them down. That then usually leads to sleep and snoring! Their previous dog, Dylan, used to snore but, it seems not half as much as these two. Rachel and Jason have never heard anything like it – the TV has to be turned up just to hear it!
Because of the hot weather they were given a little makeshift paddling pool (a large plastic tray) which Dudley loves but Peanut, on the other hand, isn’t particularly water friendly and will stay on the outside whilst he paddles and splashes her. Peanut is such a wuss, she wouldn’t even go out in the rain yesterday, she did try but ran straight back inside.
They are quite tiring at the moment but Rachel and Jason are overjoyed with both of them and wouldn’t be without them.
UPDATE AT 16 WEEKS OLD (20.8.2015)
It sounds like Peanut and Dudley are proper little characters but they are sooo delightful.
Rachel says “I just had a quick look at the website and have seen all of Cassie’s babies, of which I am sure you are all very proud. Cassie should be given a great big hug from us all for doing so well. I am actually quite surprised on how many of the boys look like Peanut and Unity actually looks like Dudley. It’s funny how they all turned out but you can tell they are all from the same family. I think it’s a good job we chose a fluff bag and a smooth hair or I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference!
If I have my calculation right, they will be 16 weeks tomorrow so I might attempt their first bath, if I feel brave enough. Dudley will probably take it in his stride and find it quite exciting but I am thinking Peanut isn’t going to like it.
Peanut has a right skitzy fit early evening before bedtime. For both of them sleep time comes within a split second, almost like someone has switched a switch. We can always tell when Peanut is tired as she gets very dark eyes and her forehead wrinkles up but she is very like a child and will fight it as much as she can.
We can’t believe HOW BIG ARE THEY NOW! I have been trying to get a decent pic of them both standing together but it is proving difficult to keep them both still at the same time!”
