A CHANGE OF FORTUNES (March 2015)

Peggy has gone to live in her Forever Home with Lynne and Paul

UPDATE FROM PEGGY’S FOREVER HOME (1.4.2015)

Lynne tells us ” Peggy is doing amazingly well. After a very nervous start, she has really come out of herself. When we picked her up from her foster home, she seemed reluctant to leave and even more reluctant to get in the car. She had a reasonable journey but was very nervous and unsteady. We have been taking her on short journeys in the car with Harvey (her new big brother) so she knows it’s nothing to be scared of. She now, after only a few days, jumps on the back seat on her own with very little encouragement after seeing Harvey getting so excited to be in the car. Having him to follow has helped in so many ways. She is still a little unsure but each journey improves. She has to be lifted into the back of Paul’s estate as it’s a bit high for her.

At first, she cowered if we went towards her which was heartbreaking. In the last few days she has started coming to us for attention and cuddles, although she is still a little wary of people and noises behind her where she cannot see them.

She is eating very well, and enjoys the odd treat! She already knows where their food cupboard is and comes running every time the fridge door is opened! She is off all medication now and her stomach has settled very well. Her energy levels are increasing day by day and she is even looking at Harvey to play with her in the garden now. We have started to lengthen her walks gradually which she seems to enjoy; smiling, sniffing with her tail wagging all the time. She is very good walking on lead but needs to be trailing behind slightly, following us all. She hasn’t been tested off lead yet.

She has a lovely temperament with dogs, cats and humans and is the perfect addition to our family. We cannot believe how easily she has taken to our life and routines, like she has been with us fur-ever!
