RAFI IN HIS FANTASTIC FOREVER HOME (13.6.201
Helen, whose Mum and Dad adopted Rafi, tells us “Regarding the important issue of young Rafi, we simply can not thank you enough for him. Our much loved Labrador left a gaping hole when he passed, and it was always going to take a very special chap to fill that void. Rafi has not only filled that gap, he has given us all a huge lift. We were a little concerned that his description on your website was too good to be true, however, he really has been an absolute delight.
He has settled in wonderfully well and is beginning to open up and exhibit a really fun personality. His attempts to ‘help us’ with the gardening will live long in the memory. We are an active house and he is loving all the exercise and looks really well on it. We are very lucky to have a quiet beach, and lovely woods nearby so he is enjoying all his walks.
As stated on your site, he does love his fuss, in fact, in our forty plus years of dog ownership, it would be fair to say that Rafi appears to enjoy a bit of love and attention more than any of our previous doggy friends. We can assure you that all our family and friends are attending to his every TLC need!
We literally can not thank you all enough, you were brilliant and so helpful. Young Rafi is an absolute joy, we are so happy to have him.
Many thanks from The Summers Family and Rafi”.
HISTORY
Rafi is a small, light coloured, male Retriever Cross who is 4yrs old and neutered.
He is very friendly with people and is mostly playful and happy although he can be slightly anxious of new things. Once he knows he can trust you, you will have a loyal and loving best friend for life. He loves being with you and adores a fuss which he will willingly take for hours.
He is really easy to live with and everyone who meets him seems to fall in love with him. He is a gentle, loving boy who only wants to please. He seems to have all the wonderful characteristics and excellent temperament of the Retriever but in a smaller package.
SOCIAL LEARNING
Travel: Rafi didn’t really like the car but he is getting better. He gets more relaxed the longer you go on and eventually he settles. He is being taught to wait until invited to come out. It was a big step forward when, after a walk, he actually jumped in the car for the first time.
Housetraining: He is housetrained.
Leadwalking: Rafi walks extremely well on a lead.
Grooming: He loves being groomed – his coat is stunning.
Good behaviour: He is a clever lad and picks up things quickly. He does not jump on the furniture and will quite happily sleep beside your bed at night.
No separation anxiety: Rafi seems to be relaxed and happy when left for a couple of hours.
Children: He is very good with children of all ages even very small ones.
Dogs: He is very friendly with other dogs and has lived happily in foster with his friend Tarran and a large family of Golden Retrievers. He now has a new best friend Oreo, who is being fostered close by. They have both been excellent with other dogs met on walks, both male and female. He was surrounded by a pack of dogs on his walk one day (local dog walker) and coped brilliantly. He would definitely enjoy the company of another dog.
Cats: Rafi has been living in a house with 4 cats and doesn’t even acknowledge they are there. He is a gentle, loving boy who only wants to please and only has eyes for his fosterer. His very good friend, Tarran, is already happily living with a new cat friend. Other livestock: He has been intrigued by a parrot but has made no move towards the cage at all. He has seen chickens next door but has made no attempt at all to get to them.
