Rory Hoppitt
IT WAS THE END OF AN ERA (December 2020)
On 22nd Dec 2019, a devastated Sheila said “I am very sorry at this festive season to be the bearer of sad news but we, very sadly, had to say goodbye to wonderful little Rory this week.
His beautiful character was there to the end and he was still enjoying food, especially Christmas treats, but at 14 years old, all other parts were failing.
We feel so lucky to have been the humans for Rupert and Rory who have both given so much pleasure to so many. Even with young Monty padding around, our home seems so very empty.
What a year it has been for us, with Nigel seriously ill all year and losing both Rupert and Rory. We can only hope for a better 2020”.
Sandra, who was also terribly upset by the news added “I am so sorry to hear that Rory has now joined Rupert and Jumble but they are back together again and reunited with Angel and Hope, the 2 baby puppies who didn’t make it.
Rory,Rupert and Jumble all had fabulous lives once they came to IRR as stowaways in Alice’s tummy as did Alice, Lisa and Carrie too. Once leaving my home, they all went to wonderful, kind Forever Families.
It was lovely that Rory opened his presents a bit earlier and was able to have the treats he so appreciated enjoying them together with dear Monty. That was, simply, thanks to your insight Sheila!! It will be a nice memory for you, Monty and for me as well.
Thank you so much for taking care of our “surprise puppies” who were always in our hearts.
My thoughts are with you all and I do hope 2020 will be a better year for all of you”.
Anne also expressed their condolences by saying “We were so sorry to read that Rory has crossed Rainbow Bridge to be with his brothers. There was something very special about these boys.
I only moved Jumble’s raised bed today. I still expect him to be in the front room when I come back in from walking the others.
Wishing you all the best for Christmas and good health to Nigel in 2020 love from Anne, Alan and Alistair xx”
Pauline added “We are feeling so sad as Rory’s passing marks the end of an era but, in a way, it seems right that they are all back together and, at 14yrs, they all did so well after almost not making it into the world at all. Still, even knowing that, of course, it doesn’t help you at all to bear the loss
Much love to you all and thankyou for all you did and how much love you gave to all the boys”.
