Roxy
A PERSONAL LETTER MADE ALL THE DIFFERENCE
Roxy and Bailey are the best of friends. They have lived together in a happy family situation their whole lives and they are totally inseparable so a home together is a must.
Due to a change in family circumstances, the two girls were going to have to go to the Pound had IRR not taken them. There was, of course, no question about taking the two of them especially when Bailey wrote us a personal letter herself.
“Hello. My name is Bailey and I am a thorough bred Golden Retriever. I am 5 years old and I have a little sister, Roxy, who is a Jack Russell. She is 6 yrs old. We love tummy rubs and relaxing in the evening in our beds.
We are both house trained and we love children. When we hear children outside playing we go out and play with them.
We love walks on the lead and off. We never run away and always come back when called.
When its dinner time we get so excited we can’t wait so we will both talk to you in doggy language to hurry it up. We also love being talked to and may answer back sometimes.
We love being together as we grew up together and mind each other. We are also friendly with other dogs and spend some time with friends when we have a sleepover in their house.
We don’t like it when we hear children crying as this upsets us too and we must investigate whether everything is ok, even if that means sitting at the end of the stairs as we are not allowed up there.
We have a teddy each that we love and snuggle at night but we will promise to love you too xx”
ROXY’S FOSTER ASSESSMENT
Roxy and Bailey were both fostered together with Lynn in Scotland.
PERSONALITY
Roxy is a 6 year old Jack Russell Terrier. She is well natured and quite typical of the breed. She gets on very well with Bailey and they play a lot. She, not surprisingly, is the boss of the two of them but there are no issues. She is a well socialised girl who gets along well with other dogs but is also very capable of handling herself. She is a total lap dog and loves her cuddles. A lovely girl with no issues, she is confident, alert and inquisitive, playful and happy but, when she needs to be, she can also be calm and laid back.
HEALTH
Her health is very good.
SOCIAL LEARNING
TRAVEL: She is happy and content travelling in a vehicle
HOUSETRAINING: Roxy is housetrained
BASIC TRAINING: She has had some basic training
LEAD TRAINING: She pulls a bit on the lead and is typical of a dog who has been walked on an extending lead. As she is small the pulling is not strong however she does need to learn to walk on a loose lead.
RESOURCE GUARDING: She shows no evidence of resource guarding
SEPARATION ANXIETY: Roxy shows no signs of separation anxiety as long as she is with Bailey.
ADULTS: She is very friendly with adults
CHILDREN: At Lynn’s she was not tested with children but she has lived with them and loves them to bits.
DOGS: Roxy is very friendly with other dogs
CATS: At Lynn’s she was not tested with cats.
A DREAM HOME FOR BAILEY AND ROXY
The most important thing for Bailey and Roxy is that they live together for the rest of their lives.
Their needs are simple …….. good food, nice walks and loads of cuddles.
In return, their lucky adopters will have two fabulous canine companions and very loving, loyal friends for life.
