Sally Hurrion

SALLY is a Labrador x Retriever who was aged about 8mths when she was rescued. She had lived outside all her life. We were told she was good with children and other dogs. IRR had her spayed.

Denise, her fosterer says: What an adorable girl Sally is, she doesn’t cause any trouble at all! As long as she has plenty of cuddles and fuss then she is happy. She is a big teddy bear really, such a softie. All she wants is cuddles. She is really sweet and gentle. What a sweetheart, she is !!!!

Sally had a few problems with weeing in the house but she is getting better, it is like now she has found that she is allowed to stay in the house she isn’t keen on going out again 🙂 When she first came she wasn’t very clean but she does learn quickly.

Sally travels well but is stubborn about getting in the car, but again I think this may be as she is not sure what’s going on. Again, she is the same with the lead, I don’t think she has been walked before, but she doesn’t pull.

She plays so well with Ruby and she really loves her. Sally noticed the cat today and, although she took a keen interest in him, she just watched then decided that it was too boring and moved on.

Sally does jump up at you but she is very gentle when doing so. We are still working on stopping this.

All the staff at the vets have fallen for both girls but cannot believe how good Sally is. They didn’t have to crate her at all, all day, she just laid by the radiator on a big quilt and didn’t move. Her spay operation went well yesterday and she is already up and about today.

UPDATE FROM SALLY’S FOREVER HOME

Julie says “I thought I would give you an update on our wonderful girlie. She is so much fun, she has now been for lots of walks and 3 off the lead and come back each time. She gets in the car-seat beside Daniel really well now and lets me put on and remove her harness really easily. She only seems to jump now first thing in the morning at me when I come downstairs which is good and doesn’t seem to do this with strangers.”

“Sally is very curious of ducks or sees them as fair game so to speak and again looks at squirrels the same way. We encountered 3 horses today and I am not sure if this was her first experience with them. She looked on from afar at the first one and then came to me when called to go on her lead when we met horses 2 and 3. I cannot say her good behaviour is down to me. I think, to be honest, Sally is a dream of a dog and we are very lucky to have her. She is so good-natured. Once again thank you all so much for helping us to find her.”
