Sandy
Age: 9-11 months
Sex: Female, spayed
History
Sandy is a beautiful Golden Retriever / Lurcher cross who was abandoned and subsequently rescued by IRR.
Personality:
Sandy has the most wonderful gentle temperament. She is mature beyond her months, but still enjoys playing roughly with other dogs. She is not completely house-trained, and she is very fond of food!
Sandy’s Dream Home:
Sandy does counter-surf in search of food, so a tidy kitchen is a must. She would suit a young active family who may even be interested in doing agility with her as she loves to be stimulated. She definitely would not be suited to being a couch potato.

July 2014 – Update from Sandy’s Forever Home
Tracy tells us: “Sandy has been living with us for almost 1 year now and have finally got around to sending an update!
She is the most wonderful dog, she is fantastic with my two children who adore her. She has made friends with our pet cat, they wash each other although the cat is always disgusted to find that Sandy tastes of dog!
We soon got over her tendency to counter surf, she learnt her name and has only ever had one wee accident inside. After she had settled in I took her training, she quickly learnt basic commands and can now be relied on to do as she’s told most of the time. She has just started to come out in the forest with me when I ride my horse. Sandy has lots of dog friends and family and regularly walks with other dogs. She has been on holiday and enjoyed the beach, she loves to swim and generally wallow in muddy puddles.
Sandy is my angel”.
