Scooby Draper

Gone to Rainbow Bridge

7 October 2020

Scooby has gone to Rainbow Bridge. His dad, Ray, said, “We had Scooby for nearly 8 years and he was such a loving affectionate dog. We are all heartbroken, he will be sadly missed by all the family.”

SCOOBY’S HISTORY

Scooby is 2.5 years old and was reluctantly surrendered by his previous owner owing to a change in circumstances.

Initial report – Ireland: June 2012

I’ve had Scooby here now for a few hours and am glad to say that I just cannot fault him. Despite being the only entire male in the house, he’s very submissive and very quiet.

A very handsome boy indeed!

He’s a small male, quite square in shape and very well groomed, not a knot or tangle on him.

He’s going to make someone a great dog.

Fosterer’s first report – UK: June 2012

Scooby was fine on the hour journey home. He ran in and found the teddy I got for him and had a lovely play with it. Within an hour and a half he was ‘spark out’ and slept for a good couple of hours. After his rest we had a nice walk along the canal.

Scooby seems as if he’s always been here. He’s very affectionate and just a lovely boy.

Fosterer’s second report – UK: June 2012

Scooby is settling in really well. We’ve just come back from the groomers and he’s had a lovely bath (which he thoroughly enjoyed).

He is slightly underweight and we are working on this to help him.

FOSTERER’S THIRD REPORT – UK: JULY 2012

We’ve been doing quite a lot of walking on the lead training to encourage loose lead walking. Also, Scooby will need someone to continue to work with him on basic commands.

Scooby really is adorable, he’s great with other dogs and he’s very affectionate and loves being with people. He’d be good with an active family with children over the age of 7 years.

December 2012: Update from Scooby’s Forever Home:

Scooby is settling in very quickly and all the family simply adore him. I have heard it said that you may not get the dog you want but you will get the dog you need – in our case we are very lucky as we achieved both with Scooby.

As you can see we take lots of photos of Scooby – he is such a joy and so loving that not a lot of housework gets done!

I would like to end with a big Thank You to IRR for letting us adopt this beautiful dog and a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all.
