GOODBYE TO A DEAR OLD CHAP

We were extremely sad to hear that the very handsome Seamus was given sleep on Friday 2 August 2013. This older gentleman was adored by Lynda and family and will be very much missed by them, his doggy pal, Poppy and everyone who knew and loved him.

In the three happy years they shared with him, he was gentle and kind and never a moment’s trouble. Go fly with all the other IRR angels, sweet boy xx

THE SEAMUS (was Garrison) STORY

Garrison, as he was back in 2010, could have been anywhere between 7 and 10yrs old.

Sandie said “Yesterday I took Garry to the groomers which he loved and he looks gorgeous now. I’d say it’s the first time he ever saw a comb or brush in his life.

He loves the car, definitely gets on well with other dogs and is a gentleman to the backbone.

I’ve had a thyroid test done on him as his skin is in a terrible condition and his eyes are bulging slightly. If it proves to be negative, I recommend that his new owner gets him onto sardines at least 3 times per week. He has been very neglected and a good diet could well sort him out.

I was holding a young puppy whilst he was being groomed and he loved him. He has a wonderful nature and personality. He can really motor on the lead and could well benefit from a harness or halti.”

SEAMUS (was Garrison) IN HIS NEW HOME

Lynda says “He has settled in very well with us and he and Lotty are pals already. We have started training him and he seems eager to please. He is being walked on an extending lead at the moment because we have sheep with lambs nearby and I would hate him to chase something through the woods and end up in their field. I need to know that he will stop on command and come back to me and at the moment he carries on doing his own thing and only comes back when he feels the gentle pull on his lead. It is vey early days though and he has had quite a change in his life so I reckon he is progressing ok. He is a very loving dog and loves snuggling up to us for a cuddle, even when it is very hot!”
